Triple-Decker Renovations: What is Value?

This month, Chris will continue our examination of Worcester’s housing stock with a presentation on simple – and complex – measures to improve a building’s performance. Chris’s experience specialized in residential energy efficiency. He has performed more than 3000 home energy assessments throughout his career. His hands-on experience crawling through attics and building performance diagnostics helped guide homeowners through practical energy saving and building performance upgrades. He also managed a team of home energy specialists, performing assessments on behalf of the utility Sponsored Mass Save program, performing 9000+ assessments, and more than $16MM in revenue per year. Chris will take on the theme of Return on Investment (ROI) versus Value of Investment (VOI). Chris will explain the interrelation of building performance parameter, e.g how energy cost savings is often a residual of air quality, health and safety, durability, and comfort improvement. Chris graduated from UMass Amherst where he majored in Building and Construction Technology. He has over 10 years of building science and performance experience. He has a passion for energy efficiency and problem solving in all aspects of the built environment.
